System / Project Engineer
SeaLandAire is a fast-paced research and development company with the objective of helping customers collect information from difficult environments. We focus on small unmanned vehicles and sensor systems. We are a “full-stack” or “turn-key” hardware development company, with capabilities ranging from high-level software development to electro-mechanical CAD design and prototyping to PCB design and embedded firmware development. We are located in Jackson MI, and are currently looking for several new systems engineers to join our team.
Systems engineers are responsible to, at a minimum, assess and define the system level requirements, analyze alternative system architectures and recommend project plans based on systems engineering best practices. In many cases this role is formalized as the lead project engineer, who is responsible to shepherd the product development cycle from concept to proof of concept prototypes and eventually towards pre-production hardware. This is a critical role in our projects as it provides continuity through the development process as well as a constant top down perspective tied to our customers' key metrics.
As our company grows and our core capabilities advance, we are pursuing several systems/project engineers to lead a team of multidisciplinary engineers in specific projects. Successful project engineers must quickly develop an understanding of the programmatic and technical requirements of a given project, and work to develop a plan to perform technically with excellence while meeting contract obligations on schedule.
Our passion for our work is evident in everything that leaves our doors!
Since a majority of SeaLandAire's business is funded by the US Department of Defense, applicants must be a "US Person" (US Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident).
